House is in Sheffield and has such a legit vibe about it. The guys there have been open now over 20 years which is no mean feat in itself.
Not only do they offer skateboard lessons they also do a lot in the community so props to them for that.
What's in the skatepark?
Along with an open plan street area / plaza House has:
A fast Miniramp which is about 5ft high and a good 16ft wide. It also has an extension on one side and a unique push out vert wall extension - love that!
The minramp backs straight onto a street driveway which the guys there change every now and then to keep it fresh - this also opens up some great lines.
An excellent beginners area (Old man shred zone!). This has an awesome 2ft miniramp that is 12ft wide and has a cool 4ft wide spine. There is also a nice bit of flat here with 3ft quarters at each end:
House has the only indoor concrete bowl I'm aware of North of Folkstone! It's gnarly as and features pool coping as well as being in it's own room, so once the session gets going it's a straight up vibe!
There is also a really well stocked shop, viewing area and cafe.
I would recommend House in a heartbeat to anyone wanting to visit a proper skater-owned skatepark!
